Are there any differences in cotton puffs?

Tuesday, September 8, 2015

I used to think that all the cotton puffs are the same.
So I always go for the cheapest cotton puff available in the market...
Why not?
It looks the same and feels the same!
It's just cotton!

Then I changed my mind...
Mainly because there were promotions and I decided to try something different...

I am really glad I did!
I read online that cheap cotton puffs may scratch your skin and cause fine lines!
I am a little scared of it so... I went out and started shopping for cotton puffs!
This is based on my personal experience only...

I am using the same toner to do comparison between the different cotton puffs because it is my favorite toner so far... lol
The toner dispenses the same amount of toner each time (I believe) as I always use one pump...
A'Pieu Aqua Nature Bamboo Dewdrop Tightening Freshener is so good!

Let's start comparing them cotton puffs!

Guardian Facial Cotton (226 pieces)

This is one of the cheapest one I bought!
RM12.20 for 3 packs!
It is just cheap!

I personally think it is quite thick.
It is fine.
It leaves cotton strands on my face so I did not like this one so much.
It is almost impossible to tap the toner into my skin as the cotton will fall apart.
I also feel that it absorbs a lot of my skincare products.
I use one pump of toner with this cotton puff and it is only sufficient for my face but not for my neck.
The texture is soft, fluffy and it did feel like the cotton will fall apart anytime.
My face is a little irritated (red) when I use it in a circular motion.

Mannings Make-Up Removal Puff (180 pieces)

I bought this when I was in Hong Kong.
I cannot remember the price but I think the price is ok...

I personally like this better.
It is very thin.
It has never left any cotton strands on my face.
I feel that it did not absorb a lot of my skincare products.
I used one pump of toner with this cotton puff and it is sufficient for my face and neck.
The texture is not as soft but firm and does not tear as easily.
My skin is not irritated by this.

Watsons Tweety Side Sealed Facial Puffs (100 pieces)

I bought this when I was running out of the cottons above and it was on promotion!
This is one of the thickest one I had used!
The sides are sealed.
At first I did not like this because I think it absorbs all the skincare products.
Then I noticed, with one pump of toner, it is sufficient for my face and neck...
The cotton is still wet so I swiped some on the back of my hands!
Wow... I was impressed!
I can also tap in the toner and the cotton still remains the same (except it may be a little dirty)
No cotton strands on my face... Yay!

Topvalu Lint Free Facial Cotton (100 pieces)

I bought this just to try and see if this is better...
Bought this for RM2.95 at Aeon Wellness...
This is a little thick...
Two of the sides are sealed
I think it is a little rough so I  swipe it really gently...
It falls apart quite easily...
The top layer from each side fell apart almost every time I use this...
With one pump of my toner, it is only sufficient for my face...
So it actually absorbs quite a lot of my toner...

Leed Beauty Puff

I bought this when I was in Hong Kong.
I forgot the price but I think it is affordable (or else I would not have bought it) lol
The size is larger than the usual ones in Malaysia... I cut it into half or four pieces for better value (cheapo me... lol)
This cotton is super thin... quite similar to Mannings...
Great for doing masks...
It does not feel rough when I swipe it...
I can also tap in my products...
No cotton strands at all...
With one pump of my toner, it is sufficient for my face and neck and the cotton still has a lot of products left.
Later on, I tried with half a pump of my toner and surprisingly it is sufficient for my face and neck!
I love this but it is not available in Malaysia!

That is all the cotton puffs I had tried so far...
If I continue exploring the world of cotton puffs, I will update this post :)

Guess who the winner is?

.....

....

...

..

.

The winner is Leed Beauty Puff!
I love Leed Beauty Puff more but it is not readily available in Malaysia...
I will definitely stock up on this and will use this forever if I can!

My second choice is Watsons Tweety Side Sealed Facial Puffs!
This is just my simple review on cotton puffs >,<

Thank you for reading as always :)
