Pros

No irritation

My thoughts

~PACKAGING~
Simple sturdy packaging

~SCENT~
No scent

~TEXTURE~
Slightly thicker than water...

~PRODUCT~
I was crazy about the brand at one point in time and bought almost all the products from the brand. I like that the ingredients are safe for our skin. It feels a little tacky and oily upon application but once it sinks in stickiness is minimal. It spreads really easily. I usually use a generous amount and it sinks in quickly. I can layer at least 3 layers when my skin feels extremely dry but usually one layer is enough. This is really hydrating and it brightens up my skin. I like this but the results did not blow me away

Pros
Easy to spread
No alcohol
No fragrance or essential oil
Sinks in quickly
Hydrating
Brightening effect is visible

Cons

Tacky upon application

Repurchase?
No, I do prefer Secret Key Starting Treatment Essence as the results were better

Recommendation?
I think this is suitable for all skin types but avoid this if you are allergic to fermented ingredients.

My thoughts

~PACKAGING~

Simple sturdy pump packaging

~SCENT~

The cleanser has a fresh citrus scent

~TEXTURE~

Light gel texture...

~PRODUCT~

I bought this a while ago and forgot I had this until I ran out of a cleanser. I thought it was a second cleanser and had been using it wrong for a long while. I did not read instructions, obviously. I tried using it for both a first and second cleanser but I am already used to doing double cleanse with two different products. I think using this alone is enough for light make up. I rarely use make up so I think this is good. It removes lip tint, eye shadows and foundation without any problem. I am pretty surprised by this cleanser. I use a micellar water afterwards just to check on how effective this removes makeup and there was no makeup traces on the cotton. It does not leave my skin tight which is good.

Pros
Pretty impressive as a 2 in 1 product
No alcohol
No allergic reaction
Packaging is sturdy
Not drying

Cons

Contains fragrance
Not easily accessible

Repurchase?
Yes, I will definitely buy this again if there is promotions
Fragrance is wash off products are not as bad

Recommendation?
I think this is suitable for all skin types but I will not recommend this to those suffering from fungal acne

~SCENT~
The serum has a gentle citrus scent which is relaxing

~TEXTURE~
Light runny gel texture...

~PRODUCT~
I saw great reviews on this and I bought this after trying a sample of this. I remember I was blown away when I tried the sample. It sinks in so quickly and my skin loves this. After using this serum for a few months, I just wanted to try something new. I was bored of this and I am not saying this is not a good serum. It's a great serum for those with sensitive skin as it contains 49% centella asiatica extract. It sinks in almost immediately, and stickiness is minimal. It does not irritate my skin in any way and I like to use this when there is redness or irritation. It somehow heals my skin :)

Pros
Easy to spread
No alcohol
No irritation, very soothing for skin
Sinks in immediately
Packaging is sturdy

Cons

Contains essential oil

Repurchase?
No, I get bored of this too quickly but I want to try the unscented version

Recommendation?
I think this is suitable for all skin types but I will recommend the unscented version of this to those with sensitive skin

Review: Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence Vs Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
Sunday, April 5, 2020

I have another skincare review for you today.
Snail in skincare is not new but I have just started trying a few and I thought it is time for a review. From what I researched based on the Snail Secretion Filtrate, it helps with redness, soothing, hydration, anti-ageing and more.

~BRAND~
Benton Vs Cosrx

~NAME~
Snail Bee High Content Essence Vs Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence

~PRICE~
RM42.50 (Hermo) Vs RM50 (Hermo)

~CAPACITY~
60ml Vs 100ml

Description
Benton: Moisture and whiten your skin for younger looking, radiant skin
Cosrx: Light-weight essence which absorbed into skin fast and gives skin natural glow from inside

Directions

Benton: After washing your face, pump out generous amount and spread evenly.
Cosrx: Spread generous amount on cheek after washing face but apply sparingly on forehead, nose and under eye area.

Ingredients
Benton: Aqua (Water), Snail Secretion FiltrateButylene Glycol, Glycerin, Niacinamide, 1,2-Hexanediol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Sh-Oligopeptide-1, Bee Venom, Plantago Asiatica Extract, Laminaria Digitata Extract, Diospyros Kaki Leaf Extract, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Ulmus Campestris (Elm) Bark Extract, Althaea Rosea Root Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Beta-Glucan, Betaine, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Adenosine, Panthenol, Allantoin, Pentylene Glycol, Zanthoxylum Piperitum Fruit Extract, Pulsatilla Koreana Extract, Usnea Barbata (Lichen) Extract, Polysorbate 20, Lecithin, Arginine

Cosrx: Snail Secretion Filtrate, Betaine, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Panthenol, Arginine, Allantoin, Ethyl Hexanediol, Sodium Polyacrylate, Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol

Benton has 29 ingredients whereas Cosrx only has 12 ingredients. Both of these do not have any alcohol or fragrance which is great. Both of these products share seven similar ingredients but Benton has niacinamide which is also a star ingredient in skincare.

My thoughts

~PACKAGING~

Both has simple pump packaging, easy to dispense

~SCENT~

Benton: It has an almost unnoticeable scent which reminds me of alcohol...
4/5

Cosrx: It has a slightly stronger scent but it is still mild
3/5

~TEXTURE~
Benton: It has a clear gel texture
5/5

Cosrx: It has a gel texture but it is also stringy/slimy
3/5

~PRODUCT~
Benton: I like how easy this is to spread and it sinks into the skin almost instantly. I love to use generous amounts so it takes more time than when I use a thin layer. This makes my skin so soft and smooth. When I was using this, my skin looks so healthy and I can do with less skincare. I can definitely see the difference this made to my skin. I enjoy using this as a whole and will definitely consider repurchasing this. This is nearly empty now.

4/5

Cosrx: I did not really enjoy the texture because it is stringy. Sometimes the product gets onto my lips when I try to apply it on my face because it is stringy. I have been using this for about two weeks now. I opened this when the Benton is running low so I can compare these two. I believe this is will last me longer as I do not use this as generously as it feels thicker on my skin. I am a little worried this will clog my skin so I use this more sparingly. I think this actually takes a longer time to sink in but once it dries there is no stickiness. I think this has the same result as the Benton. My skin is softer, smoother and looks more radiant. Cosrx provides deeper hydration for my skin.

3/5

~Recommendation~
I recommend Benton to those with oily or combination skin while Cosrx is more suitable for those with dry skin. Both of these do not contain alcohol, fragrance or essential oil so these are great for those with sensitive skin.

If I have to choose one, it will definitely be Benton as I have combination skin.

Review: A'pieu Pure Block Natural Sun Cream Spf 45 Pa+++

Tuesday, February11, 2020

It's been a while since my last skincare review.
I have been using this for around six months now.

~PRICE~
USD 7.92 (Style Korean)

~CAPACITY~
50ml

Description

Directions

Ingredients
Refer to incidecoder which I love to use now

My thoughts

~PACKAGING~
Simple tube packaging, easy to dispense sunscreen

~SCENT~
The scent is fairly strong...
It has a fresh and light citrus scent
The scent does not linger for long

~TEXTURE~
Creamy gel texture...

~PRODUCT~
I had high hopes for this as I saw great reviews. I love that it is easy to spread. It leaves a slight white cast if I do not take the time to massage it in. This felt so much heavier than my Biore UV Aqua Rich. It does feel oily and slightly tacky after application. I did not really like this maybe because I have combination skin.

Pros
Easy to spread
Light fresh scent
Affordable

Cons

Contains fragrance
Slight white cast
Heavy
Oily and tacky

Repurchase?
No

Recommendation?
I do recommend this sunscreen for those with dry skin.

Review: Tony Moly Aloe 99% Chok Chok Soothing Gel

Friday, January 24, 2020

Today I will be reviewing another aloe vera gel product.
I am not very fond of aloe vera gels for no particular reasons.
lol

~BRAND~
Tony Moly

~NAME~
Aloe 99% Chok Chok Soothing Gel

~PRICE~

~CAPACITY~
250ml

~PACKAGING~
It comes in a simple green semi-transparent tube.

~SCENT~
The scent is pretty strong but does not remind me of aloe.

~TEXTURE~
It has a runny gel consistency.

~PRODUCT~
This aloe gel feels pretty similar to the other aloe gels I have tried in the past but it is definitely more watery. It sinks in instantly. It does not feel sticky upon application and stickiness is minimal. I only use this in the morning and I believe it is enough for my combination skin. During night time, this alone is not enough. I usually use a heavier cream at night or add a few drops of oil to this aloe gel. My skin loves this!

Pros
Hygienic packaging
Provides decent hydration
Affordable
Minimal stickiness

Cons
Scent is not my cup of tea

Repurchase?
I might repurchase when I have finished my other moisturizers.

Recommendation?
I think those with oilier skin types will love this

Review: Meishoku Placenta Whitening Eye Cream

Sunday, March 24, 2019

Today I will be reviewing an eye cream that was ranked number 1 on cosme.
I bought it for that reason. lol

~BRAND~
Meishoku

~NAME~
Placenta Whitening Eye Cream

~PRICE~
880 yen

~CAPACITY~
30ml

~PACKAGING~
It comes in a simple blue tube.

~SCENT~
The eye cream has a light medicinal kind of scent.

~TEXTURE~
It looks like a thick cream but spreads like a gel.

~PRODUCT~
This eye cream is easy to spread. It feels sticky and oily upon application. It does not sink in immediately maybe because it is heavier than gel eye creams. I have been using this for more than a year and I think there is still half of the product left. A little does goes a long way, but I did not see any effect from using this other than hydration. I hope it will reduce the appearance of my dark circles but I think it doesn't. It may be my fault to begin with since I stay up late every single day. lol.

Pros
A little goes a long way
Provides decent hydration
Affordable
Easy to spread

Cons
Scent is not my cup of tea
No effect
Sticky

Repurchase?

I don't think so. I will continue searching for my destined eye cream.

Recommendation?
I think this is worth a try. It is a decent eye cream.

Disappointing Products #5

Monday, June 4, 2018

Methode Swiss Thermal White Overnight Intensive Repair Mask

It has a gel-cream kind of texture.
It has an awful smell...
lol
Smells like someone puked on my face
It is easy to spread and sinks into the skin really quickly.
It is very sticky and oily. which I do not appreciate.
My skin reacted negatively.
A few huge pimples after using for 2-3 days!

***

Annecy HA + Rosehip Oil Peeling Gel

A total diasappointment!
It makes my skin super duper dry.
When I wiped my face with tissue after rinsing with water, the tissue was stuck on my face. Literally!
My skin had never felt so tight before.
A nightmare!

I gave it two chances and that's it!
It's going out the window!

No, I mean it's going into the trash corner!

***

Missha The Style Perfect Concealer (light beige)

I bought this because it was cheap.
Unfortunately, this did not work for me.
It is so cakey.
I did not like it at all.

***

Candy Love Say Hello Body Clear Exfoliating Cream

I bought this because I saw the ads on facebook!
It removes hair like magic.
I am buying this one.
So I did.

I tried it on my armpit.
I applied it once.
Tried to wipe the hair away with tissue but the hairs did not even budge.
Well, maybe I used too little of the cream so I applied a second layer.
A thick layer.
When I wiped, wow, some hair was on the tissue.
I had to wipe quite hard to remove more hair.
It had the strong chemical smell that was so awful.
Reminds me of the time when I did hair rebonding!

I was not impressed at all.
Money went down the drain.

Review: Tilley Soaps Australia

Tuesday, May 15, 2018

Anyone heard of this before?

I have never.
My mother in law bought this for me when she was in Melbourne.

Of course, I had to check on the products because I have never heard of it!
All information taken from the website.

A little about the company
The company was established in 1865 in Melbourne by Arthur Tilley and is one of Australasia's finest producers of high quality soaps and cosmetics for both the local and international market place

Let's take a look at the soaps!

Tahitian Frangipani
As alluring as its name, this divinely fragrant frangipani soap is one of our hero soaps, that really should not to be missed. Made with the finest raw materials including sustainable palm oil, pure coconut oil, shea butter and vitamin e, this beautiful bar has also been triple milled to create an extra creamy texture

My thoughts

+ start: 7 May 2015 +
+ finish: 16 February 2016 +

The scent is very light and fresh. After using this, my skin was super clean. I was a little surprised because I did not expect anything from my shower gel or soaps! My skin is pretty dry and I hate lotions. After using it a few times, I can definitely see a difference. I am not sure if it is my imagination but I can feel that my skin is not as dry (but still dry la)! Not magic, of course... lol

When I look at the description, I am quite sure it is not just my imagination! The ingredients are great! Palm oil, coconut oil, shea butter and vitamin e must be the key ingredients  for softer, smoother and moisturized skin! I am totally in love with this :)

Rating: 4/5

Goatsmilk Linseed
Slightly exfoliating linseeds are embedded thru this beautifully creamy goatsmilk bar. Enriched with sustainable palm oil, pure coconut oil, shea butter and vitamin e, this bar has also been triple milled to create an extra luxurious texture.

My thoughts

+ start: 16 February 2016  +
+ finish: 08 April 2017 +

The scent is very light and I find it really hard to describe the scent! lol
This is quite similar to the soap above. It is not magic, so if I do not use lotions, my skin will still be dry. I like that this does not strips my skin of its natural oil. Not that there is a lot anyway. lol
The problem with dry skin!

Rating: 3.5/5

I like the soaps but it is hard to get in Malaysia. I will not go the extra mile to buy this.
Definitely not a holy grail, so...
Worth a try, I guess :)
