Review: Kose Softymo Medicated White Washing Foam

Saturday, March 1, 2014

Today I will be reviewing a facial cleanser that I have been using for 6 months now. It is a product from Kose Softymo. It claims to whiten and brighten up dull skin. I bought most of my skincare products from sasa.com because there is a lot of choices and there is a lot of promotions there from time to time. I always look at the number of reviews on the product before deciding to buy but sometimes when it is very cheap.. I can ignore that... lol

This is the packaging (190g). Please ignore the date as I like to keep track on the duration the products can last.

This is the back of the packaging. It's all in Japanese.

It is cream like but you only need a little as it lathers up very well.

Lathers up very well
I think the product cleanses pretty well and it keeps my skin hydrated. It did brighten up my skin. As for the whitening effect... my skin tone is quite tanned so it did whiten my skin tone a little but not too obvious. Furthermore, I am using a lot of whitening sheet mask so I am not quite sure whether the whitening is from the cleanser or from my sheet masks. I guess there was a little problem... My skincare routine did not change for a while except for this cleanser. Then after 3 months of using, I notice a few bumps on one side of my cheek! So sad :(

I decided to leave this aside! I will continue looking for a better cleanser!
Pros
:) Cleanse really well
:) Affordable (I bought it for about USD8)
:) Not drying

Cons
:( It has a light typical drugstore scent
:( Cause a few bumps on my cheek

  3. Hi Allison.. You can try out Atomy's Foam Cleanser.. It's really natural and not dying at all.. Just use a little amount and you'll have enough lather for your whole face as well as your neck.
