Finally started blogging... Our 13 days trip to Taiwan!
It was really fun and food were so delicious...
Well, I tried my best to recall the moments from over 2000++ of our photos...

Flying off!

Did a lot of homework before going over this time :)
Tried to make this trip as budget as possible...
In total we spent about RM 6,210 for 13 days for 2 person including air tickets, accommodations, food, transportation and everything else...
After deducting air tickets, we spend RM 371.05 per day for the both of us...

We reached Tao Yuan Airport about 10:45pm
We wanted to get the mobile number for unlimited data plan but out of stock!
No choice...
We followed the signs to get to the bus
We bought bus ticket from the counters

We chose Kuo Kuang 1819 for NT125 each!
We wanted to travel like locals... and to keep within out budget of course :)

You can also take a taxi but it will cost NT1000 to get to Taipei

Our tickets

I went to Hi-Life to buy EasyCard (悠遊卡) for NT100 each then topped up NT200 for each card

Nice design :)

Walked back to the platform to wait for the bus to Taipei

The bus arrived at about 11:40pm

The luggage compartment is divided according to the stops.
If I remember correctly there were only three stops...
Be sure to tell the driver which stop you are getting off so the baggage will be in the correct compartment...

There were baggage tag on our baggage... for easier identification and in case you took the wrong one

One for the baggage...

One for us...

Our stop was 庫倫街口 (Kulun Street) or Yuanshan Station, the second stop.
From there, we took a taxi... It was already 12:30am
The journey was about 50 minutes
The uncle was really nice and friendly... he forgot to set the meter but he only charged us NT90... he told us the meter starts at NT90 after 11pm... Before that is NT80...

We reached the minsu around 12:45am
There is a security guard downstairs
The security guard handed our room key to us
He was really friendly and helpful!
We were supposed to pay the remaining rental but we did not exchanged enough local currency...
The minsu owner were really kind and understanding and waited until Monday when the banks were open

Taiwanese are very friendly and helpful!
We feel very welcomed here

Our home for four nights...
士林背包客 (website here)
We booked our rooms through line and paid with Paypal
Total cost was NT4797
NT1099 (Sunday to Thursday)
NT1500 (Friday to Saturday)

The rooms will be allocated based on availability...
Standard Double Room

Our room :)

The room is really small but nice...
I  think it is quite well maintained...

A comfy bed and a small sofa
The air con was pretty cold

A small dresser with mirror

A closet with hangers, towels and simple toiletries
The electric kettle and hair dryer is at the bottom

TV!

Fridge!
Cups with tea sachets and most importantly WIFI!
The connection was very smooth! No delays!

Adapters was also provided!

The toilet is clean

The water heater is a little difficult to control...
It is either very hot or cold...
or we don't know how to use it...

The bathtub is a little dirty but still ok la...

Bubble hand wash is provided

Toothbrushes and mini toothpastes
We did not use these as we had our own

Shampoo and shower gel were provided

This place is extremely near to Jiantan Station and Shilin Night Market
Overall, I think this minsu is great for the price!

After leaving our baggage in the room, we went out for a walk...

Bought Korean Fried Chicken for NT110
It was just okay...

We continued to Shilin Night Market because I was so excited I couldn't sleep!

Some shops were still open at 1 am!

Went to 7-eleven (next to the minsu building) to buy mineral water and some snacks for NT159
Went back to our room to chill and shower and finally slept at 2:30am

Ready for the next day!
